The Rootrainers have 4 cell compartment opening cells that open like a book for planting seeds. Each cell has a bottom drainage hole that intakes or releases water, so the growing soil does not stay too moist. The bottom center drainage hole location, causes the roots to be naturally air-pruned and encourages the roots to grow straight down and out from the plant while preventing spiraling root-bound roots.

Our Rootrainers straight-grooved cells are 1 1/2 inch square x 5 inch deep, allowing growing deeper, straighter and healthier root systems on each plant. This seed starter kit is perfect for cuttings, plugs and seedlings. Grow your plants more quickly to get a jump-start on your growing season.

The plant growing kits have hinged openings to remove your seedlings so they can be placed directally into your garden soil or planting beds, without having to repot as the plant grows. You can even open the hinges to check the progress of seedlings without disturbing the plants.

Our Deep Rootrainers are made from recycled plastic. They are re-usable and can last up to 6 years.
