The Worm Factory 250g Coir Brick 10 Packs
The Worm Factory 250 Coir Brick Packs growing medium and soil amendent is made of coarse fibers that are extracted from the fibrous outer shell of a coconut. The coconut coir fiber is 100 percent natural, pH Neutral and a renewable resource that is disease resistant. The spongy texture furnishes excellant air space with water holding abilities that will hold 8 to 10 times more water then its volume in weight.
After extracting the coarse fibers, the fibers are screened, graded and washed to remove salt residue and then compressed into bales, bricks and blocks. A compressed block, brick or bale needs to be soaked in water for at least 15 minutes before using. Coir will expand 5 to 7 times in voluume, so make sure to use a large enough container when soaking your coir.
Coir can account for up to 40 percent of a potting mix when added as a ingredient for your potting soil. Coir will keep its proprieties and can be stored covered for several years, so always keep the coir that your do not use.
